Drop your phone and chat to a real person

It’s funny how many people still couldn’t believe that I never had a cell phone before. Constant communication with everyone is not something that thrills me. So before I go on this cell phone journey I would like everyone to know a few ground rules:

  1. Even though you call me, I might not pick up. Not that you’re not important to me, nor am I dismissing the importance of the call, I just might be with someone, or doing something that demands my attention.

  2. I will not carry my phone with me at all times. Yes, I have the ability and will power to not carry my phone. I will not carry it around the house, and I will be able to leave the house without it tethered to me.

  3. Feel free to text me. At some point I will see your message. I might not get back to you right away, or at all. Yup, I will forget to respond. If I do respond, I’ve done well. Please do not try to reason or justify why I did not respond right away. (Please refer to point 1)

  4. If I cannot implement these rules myself, my lovely Charo will be promptly removing the device from my possession as per my request.

  5. If you feel slighted in any way by a text, or email, please call me. I know, from time to time, people can misunderstand the meaning behind a text, so once again, please call.

Please do not ask me for my phone number if you cannot understand the previous points. These are non-negotiable. I, Joe from TO, reserve the right to modify, add and/or change my cell phone use. (Except #4 is non negotiable, and I am to beg for forgiveness if that ever happens.)

The cell phone I purchased: The Huawei P20 lite. No review so far as I’m looking for a cell provider. Once I’m a few months in I’ll tell you how it goes.

Since I bought a cell phone, Charo didn’t want to be outdone. She decided to buy a phone as well. She settled on the Motorola Moto G6 Plus. Again, once we play with it for a while we will give you an update on it’s performance.
