Can you believe it. Marco’s 10. A decade of Marco. So how do we celebrate? With an around the world themed birthday party, of course!

One thing I can tell you about Marco is he loves his themes. He wanted everything to do with going around the world. There was a lot that went into his party, and I want to think everyone had fun!

Lots of flags, but alas no Malta or Peru!

We decorated the whole house with different world flags, and other memorabilia from around the world.

All the adults got into the action as well, each wearing something from a different country.

And some enjoyed the games as well.

The kids seemed to enjoy it all, especially the food!

Three extra special mentions for making this birthday party a success.

1. Marco’s Aunt Olga! You rocked! Olga works for Air Canada and not only dressed as an airline attendant, but also served everyone just like she would on a flight. Olga definitely went above and beyond for her nephew. Now all she has to do is remember when Marco’s birthday is 🙂 Sorry, Marco made me write that.

2. Chase and his mom Vanessa. They brought the most talked about present in the party. Knowing that Marco would be travelling for a year, they thought they’d open his mind to new things. With that in mind they bought: Edible bugs, worms and ants. There were lots of “ewwws” and “Try it” chants.

3. Finally, our niece, Kyara and her Body Art and Face painting. She is spectacular and did a lot of work. Everyone who had something done really enjoyed it. I highly recommend her. If you have an event you can contact her at: mailto:kyara.sewell@gmail.com

Marco loved his birthday party, and wants to thank everyone who attended and helped out. The only sad part came when he realized that next year we won’t be able to have a party with many of the wonderful people we did this year. I guess that’s one of the things he’ll have to give up.
