Eggfest/Toronto Smoke Show = BBQ Holiday in September (June 29th, 2018)

For those of you who know me, you know I enjoy playing hockey and generally having a good laugh. For those of you who know me, you know that one of my favourite hobbies is BBQ. This weekend, Charo and I enjoyed Eggfest/Toronto Smoke Show at Woodbine Racetrack, and it was worth every penny!

Yes, last week, I wrote about the Keto diet we had started, and yes, we broke it. There was no better way to break the diet for a day than a whole day of BBQ everything. Once a year, we celebrate BBQ with our fellow enthusiasts. Although there were a few professionals here trying to show off their BBQ equipment, most chefs were just backyard BBQers. You get to try different things, share recipes, learn a few tricks and, most importantly, enjoy the day with some great people. Kudo’s to Dickson Barbeque for throwing another amazing event. It has gotten better every year.

Sorry, can’t remember the team name. It was delicious

The most beneficial moment for me was to see a Keto BBQ enthusiast there. Charo met BBQ Tom and learned his story, and it’s quite a success story. He has an Instagram page and YouTube site if you’re interested in trying out some Keto BBQ.

One of the tastiest things we ate were ribs prepared by the jack9 Barbeque team! Charo and I ended up sharing this rib because we were so full we couldn’t eat more.

So who breaks a diet without getting something sweet? How about a donut prepared on the Big Green egg!

Mmmmmmm donut!

It’s safe to say that I ate a whole lot more than what I took pictures of. I could not wait to dig into all that good food. The sad news is I won’t be able to attend next year, but I look forward to the next time I can make it.

Thanks for reading, and don’t forget to subscribe. If you’re on a cellphone, you can find the subscription when you scroll down to the bottom of the main page.

P.S. Shout out to Emily and Kirk, as well as Vlad and Allison! I love to go out and see friends, especially when they prove my point. Charo. I do need a second bbq!

Thanks for reading and happy adventuring!
